With everything going on in the world these days — a never-ending pandemic, climate change, police brutality, and so much more — it’s no wonder that our collective anxiety has reached a new high.

A 2021 study by the University of Queensland in Australia estimated that, in 2020, there were about 374 million cases of anxiety worldwide.

With more people suffering, more and more people are looking for alternative solutions to their anxiety, mainly CBD products. Items like CBD patches, oils, and more have gone mainstream, with numerous celebrities jumping on the bandwagon.

Although the use of CBD for mental health issues is still a relatively new phenomenon, numerous studies have shown promising results for the use of CBD products in reducing anxiety and PTSD.

In case you’re new to the whole CBD trend, let us break it down for you. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the active ingredients in marijuana. However, unlike marijuana, CBD alone does not get you high. Fans of CBD say that the ingredient has all the relaxing benefits of marijuana without the high. On top of that, CBD shows no risk of addiction or dependency, according to the WHO.

Below check out some of the celebs who swear by CBD products for the treatment of their anxiety.

1. Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian has long been vocal about her love of CBD products and previously told People,

“How do I do it all? It is exhausting. I just say CBD. But I do. I really that has gotten me through a lot.”

CBD has helped her so much that she’s even stopped relying on traditional anti-anxiety meds like Xanax. She explained,

“I got into CBD a few months ago. It’s saved my life. Even to sleep at night. I like the gummies. I will just use a little bit and fall asleep. I don’t think I would take a Xanax or an Ambien again.”

2. Alessandra Ambrosio

Model Alessandra Ambrosio, who’s most known for her work with Victoria’s Secret, says she often turns to CBD oil when dealing with pre-show anxiety. She told Well + Good in 2017,

“It’s hard because the mind gets anxious, so I try CBD oil and I think it helps.”

Of course, CBD oil is just one of many tools she uses. Alessandra says she also relies on a good night’s sleep in order to help manage her mental health.

3. Leighton Meester

Actress Leighton Meester often uses CBD balm as a means of self-care, especially when she’s feeling tense — which can often be a symptom of anxiety. She told Shape magazine,

“I use CBD [cannabidiol] balm to try to reduce the stress and tension in my shoulders and hands.”

4. Whitney Port

The Hills alum Whitney Port has previously taken to Instagram to share her love of CBD products and has even been spotted hitting up a “chic” cannabis retail store with her hubby Tim Rosenman.

Whitney particularly loves to use CBD when stressed and suffering from debilitating headaches. She once shared her favorite products on Instagram and wrote,

“This transdermal gel pen has really helped my headaches. I rub it on my temples. If you struggle like me, come here and get one.”

5. Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart loved CBD so much that she even started her own line!

According to Martha, she first learned of the benefits of CBD in 2015 from her good friend Snoop Dogg. After sitting next to Snoop for seven hours during Comedy Central’s “Roast of Justin Bieber,” she got a contact high and felt “really good.”

These days, Martha sticks to CBD and not cannabis itself, mainly using CBD gummies and CBD oil. She told New York Times,

“I pop 20 of them and just feel OK, but some of my friends do two and feel high, I don’t know why. It’s not high like a marijuana high. It’s a CBD high, like, relaxed.”

When she really needs to relax and get some rest, she turns to CBD oil. She explained,

“The thing that really helps me are the oil drops that I have at night, before bed. I just put a couple of droppers of the blood orange or Meyer lemon under my tongue.”
